This Scherzo from his last symphony appeals strongly to the imagination of an organist who tries to imagine how Bruckner himself might have played this kind of music on the organ. That seemed impossible, with all the different layers in the orchestral score. But with the two organists it turned out to be possible. According to the audience, both the playful and the impressive came across convincingly in the Brussels cathedral.
